Daycare and returning to work

Carers don’t need your whole history. They need today’s rhythm in a few clear lines.

General parent support only — not a diagnosis or treatment plan. For medical worries, contact your midwife, health visitor, GP, NHS 111, or emergency services.

Skim: short morning brief · usual rhythm · how to reach you

Give carers today’s picture

Last feed time, usual nap window, and any medicine already given. A printed one-pager or a clear note beats a long message thread at drop-off.

Describe “normal for us”

“Usually settles with a short walk” or “often cluster-feeds after 5pm” helps carers respond without guessing. Update it when the rhythm changes.

Keep clinical questions with clinicians

Daycare can share observations. Feeding worries, illness, or medicines plans still sit with you and your GP, midwife, or health visitor.
